Right to Buy mortgage - how much, from who - that is the question ?
Most people exercising their Right to Buy will need to obtain a mortgage.

Each different mortgage company has a large (and fairly complicated) list of criteria which lays out which customers would qualify and how much they can borrow for what period of time.

These criteria often vary considerably by lender - and our job is to ensure that your circumstances match the criteria of the selected lender (we currently
have over a dozen lenders who will provide Right to Buy mortgages - not all lenders will consider these).

Choosing the wrong lender will result in a rejection. which can further harm your credit history and subsequent applications. By careful matching of clients circumstances to lender’s criteria we were successful in obtaining mortgage offers for 100% of the applications we made in 2011 !

Amongst the key criteria are how individual lenders will calculate your income depending upon its source, your type and length of employment, your dependents, any other debts you have and your credit history to decide how much they will be able to lend. We will go through this calculation (and many other things) with you before any application is made on your behalf.
One thing that every lender will take into consideration is how good your credit history is. This takes into account not just whether you any bad debts, but how much credit you have demonstrated you can use responsibly in the past (so not having had any credit in the past can be nearly as bad as bad debts, in at least some cases) For this reason we require that you provide us a with a credit report before we progress any application.

We recommend using checkmyfile (see panel to the right) who will provide you with a credit report online from all three major agencies on a 30 day easy to cancel (unlike many others offering similar) free trial
